CASE STUDY
Independent Aged Care Advisory
PROJECT INTRODUCTION
AI can be a great way to explore an idea visually, but an initial concept isn’t necessarily a complete brand system.
For AJQ Care Advisory, the goal was to retain the character and direction Ali liked about her original concept while developing it into something polished, consistent and practical.
The resulting brand keeps the warmth and personality Ali liked in the original concept, while giving AJQ Care Advisory a professional and consistent identity that can grow with the business.
AJQ Care Advisory helps people and families navigate aged care decisions, often at a time when there is already a lot to understand. That meant the brand needed to feel professional and credible without becoming too corporate or clinical.
The final visual identity combines deep navy with softer sage tones and touches of wattle gold and yellow. The wattle illustration adds warmth and gives the brand a recognisable Australian element without overpowering the clean, professional feel.
Typography was also selected to balance professionalism with approachability, using Playfair Display for headings and Lato for clear, easy-to-read supporting text.
The completed brand system was built around four characteristics that reflect how AJQ Care Advisory wants to communicate: Warm. Independent. Clear. Confident. And at the centre of the brand, I helped Ali define a simple message that captures what AJQ Care Advisory is all about: Confidence starts with clarity.
It reflects the role Ali wants to play for her clients, helping make aged care decisions feel clearer, more manageable and less overwhelming.
A professional brand needs to work in more places than a logo file. Once the core identity was established, I worked with Ali to apply it to the practical materials she needed to start presenting AJQ Care Advisory professionally. This included business cards, letterhead and With Compliments slips, all designed to feel like part of the same business rather than separate pieces created at different times.
The business card also became an opportunity to explain what AJQ actually helps people with. Rather than using the reverse simply as decoration, it highlights four key areas:
This helps the card do more than provide Ali’s contact details. It gives someone a quick understanding of where AJQ Care Advisory can help, particularly when the card has been handed over following a conversation or referral. Helping you move from overwhelmed to confidence, one milestone at a time. This reinforces the role AJQ plays in making a complicated process feel clearer and more manageable.
One of the challenges for a business like AJQ Care Advisory is that potential clients may not immediately know what an Independent Aged Care Advisor does. They are more likely to know the problem they are facing. They might be trying to work out where to start with My Aged Care, preparing for an assessment, trying to understand available funding or comparing providers. The messaging needed to bridge that gap.
Instead of relying heavily on industry terminology, the brand communicates AJQ’s services around the practical situations people are actually dealing with. That same thinking later became important when developing the website. People shouldn’t have to understand the aged care system before they can understand whether AJQ Care Advisory can help them.
As the business developed, Ali reached the point where she was ready to invest in a professional website. She chose my Fast Track Websites service, giving us a streamlined way to take the brand, messaging and services we had already developed and turn them into a professional online presence. Because I already understood the AJQ brand and the foundations were in place, we could move quickly.
The website build was completed within just three days of Ali deciding to move ahead with the Fast Track Websites service.
Fast didn’t mean skipping the important parts. The website still needed to clearly explain what AJQ does, establish trust, make the services easy to understand, work properly across devices and give visitors a clear next step. It also needed the right foundations in place for search.
A website shouldn’t just look professional. It has a job to do.
For AJQ Care Advisory, I approached the website around three things I believe every service-based business needs to make easy for potential clients:
The website gives AJQ Care Advisory a professional online home where search engines, AI search tools and potential clients can understand what the business does. Clear page structure, relevant headings, service information and foundational SEO were built into the website from the beginning. The goal is to give AJQ a stronger foundation for being discovered when someone starts looking for help.
Being found is only the first step. Someone visiting the AJQ website may be dealing with an unfamiliar aged care system and making important decisions for themselves or someone they care about. The website needed to give them confidence that they had found someone who understood the process and could explain it clearly. Consistent branding, clear messaging, information about Ali and straightforward explanations of the services all help build that confidence. The website looks and feels like the same AJQ Care Advisory someone may already have encountered through a referral, business card or other material.
Once someone understands what AJQ does and feels comfortable with the business, the next step should be obvious. The website was structured to make it easy to move from reading and researching to making contact. Clear calls to action and contact options are placed throughout the site so potential clients aren't left wondering what to do next.
SEO is much easier to build into a website from the start than to try to fix later.
For AJQ Care Advisory, that meant thinking beyond how the pages looked and considering how the website would be understood by search engines. Page structure, headings, content and service information were developed to clearly communicate what AJQ Care Advisory does and the areas where Ali can provide support. That creates a stronger foundation for future search visibility as the business grows.
It also supports the way people are increasingly searching through AI tools, where clear, specific and well-structured information about a business is becoming even more important. The goal wasn’t to fill the website with keywords. It was to make AJQ Care Advisory easy to understand for people and search engines.
The strength of the finished AJQ Care Advisory project isn’t any one individual piece.
It’s the way everything now works together.
The logo, colours, typography and wattle elements establish a recognisable visual identity.
The messaging explains what AJQ stands for and the help Ali provides.
The business cards and stationery carry that identity into everyday conversations and client communication.
And the website brings it all together online, giving potential clients somewhere to learn more, build confidence and make contact.
Whether someone hears about AJQ through a referral, receives Ali’s business card, visits the website or receives correspondence from the business, they are seeing the same professional, consistent brand.
What began as an AI-generated concept has been developed into a complete professional identity for AJQ Care Advisory. Importantly, the original idea wasn’t discarded simply for the sake of creating something different. It was refined and developed into something Ali could actually use across her business.
AJQ Care Advisory now has a clear visual identity, practical branded materials and a professional website, all working together to support the business as it grows. And that is what good branding should do. It shouldn’t just make a business look better. It should make the business easier to recognise, easier to understand and easier to trust.
